Williamsport Travel Guide
Welcome to Williamsport, PA!
Situated in Lycoming County near the Appalachian Mountains and the Susquehanna River, Williamsport witnessed the birth of the first organized children—s sport, Little League Baseball. At the Little League Museum, visitors learn about the growth of Little League, from its early stages in Williamsport to being played in over 100 countries. The Community Arts Center features 1920s-era architecture and a 2,000-seat theater, which has hosted performances by Bill Cosby, David Copperfield and Willie Nelson. For over 35 years, the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra has brought classical music and more to the area. The Thomas T. Taber Museum hosts five paintings of 19th-century, still-life painter Severin Roesen as well as over 300 trains and two working displays in the LaRue Shempp Model Train exhibit. A visit to Williamsport is not complete without a tour in the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat (open May to October), featuring public cruises, Sunday brunches and dinner cruises and sunset cruises.
